The most relaxing vacation of our lives!

Jodo is an amazing place! The main house is beautiful and has an amazing kitchen and game room. The view is unbelievable and sunsets are postcard worthy every night. The water right out front is crystal clear, calm and warm, and offers a neat little reef with cool sea life for all to enjoy. Plenty of Conch shells to cultivate as well!. The travel to Jodo is also part of the fun...taxi to ferry, to taxi but most importantly, an opportunity to talk to the locals and learn about their country and their recommendations. As North is removed from Provo, once at Jodo, we definitely enjoyed renting a car for a couple of days to explore the Conch Caves, Mudjin harbor, and the local grocery stores and Miss B's...a wonderful experience to take in the island culture. The Jodo team is also tremendous in their upfront coordination and support throughout the stay. Highly recommend Jodo for anyone looking for an island excursion that is as authentic as it gets.

Found Paradise at Jodo

This is a 5 star property. My wife and I spent our 20th wedding anniversary there. Perfect for couples looking for serenity and viewing the beautiful island of North Caicos. John and Patti were extremely good at answering our questions in advance. The guest house is perfect for a couple, and modern with good appliances. More of a house than a guest house. I am sure the larger house would be nice for big groups, but for a couple the guest house was perfect. The amenities of paddle boards and sea kayaks were a huge plus. We went paddled to 3 Mary's Cay and also towards Parrot Cay. The snorkeling right off the beach was extremely good. Lots of different fish, including large schools of fish. We enjoyed days of perfect weather and serenity without seeing anyone (other than dolphins, fish, conch, sting rays and pelicans). Mr. Gray was great to pick us up and be patient while we shopped for groceries. Don't be discouraged at taking groceries in for your stay. The kitchen is modern and we enjoyed not having to go out to eat. We did rent a car one day and went to Middle Caicos. That was well worth it. We enjoyed Mudjin Bay and Bambara Beach. It was interesting to explore North and Middle Caicos and I would recommend that even for people looking to unwind. The internet access and tv were a bonus, as was air conditioning in the bedroom. We will definitely be back and strongly recommend this property to anyone that is trying to decide if such a remote location is a good idea. Not sure I will ever go back to a resort or hotel. Best Island Vacation Spot

My wife and I have visited many islands in the Caribbean, but JODO is far and away the best. It was 2 fantastic weeks! You get EXACTLY what is advertised...if not better! If you are looking for a place that offers you lots of privacy, yet not remote from any civilization - this is the place for you. Why? Number 1 - John, the owner is very good to deal with with. He responds quickly and honestly to all your questions. Number 2 - his staff of Patti & Regina do an excellent job. No fears when you get here. Once your plane lands, the pre-arranged taxi picks you up, takes you shopping in Provo, and drops you off at the ferry. After the ferry, a taxi takes you straight to JODO. Patti meets you at the house and explains everything to you. If you have any problems, just call her or Regina and they respond ASAP. They also can help you with directions of where to go. You never feel stranded or on your own in case something should come up. Number 3 - The property is right next to the beach , with all the toys you could want to play with - all at NO EXTRA CHARGE. Kayaks, SUP's, etc. And the beach is quiet. You can walk for miles in both directions for hours and see no one. Number 4 - The people on the island are friendly. No crime at all on this island. The roads are really good for driving. Number 5 - the inside of the house is very comfortable, and the A/C in the bedroom is a blessing on those hot summer nights. Also lots of filtered water from the fridge. Number 6 - If you rent a car or bikes, the suppliers bring it to your house. Number 7 - There is great snorkelling just a few feet from the house off the beach. I would recommend renting a car for a few days to see Three Mary Cays nearby and Middle Caicos - Mudjin Harbour is a must. I would recommend renting bikes, as the roads are very pleasant to bike on. Regina can bring the bikes to your house. Also take a day trip out with Captain "D" if you want to go fishing or snorkel the great barrier reef. My married daughter and son-in-law came for 1 week and just loved it too. You CAN NOT go wrong with this pick!

Serenity, Sunsets, Stargazing

- My husband and I went to JODO to celebrate our 40th anniversary. We have vacationed many places around the world and have never found a more secluded beach and property. You can walk for miles on the beach and not see a soul. The water is a beautiful color of different shades of blue. The sunsets are amazing and stargazing is incredible. We brought most of our food as we grilled most evenings and stayed right on the property. Regine and Patti were so helpful with taking care of any of our needs or questions. Just a phone call away and they responded quickly. John, the owner was also very helpful prior to our stay with ideas of things to do on the island and other tips. A very memorable week.

Beautiful villa, perfect spot

Our group had a wonderful stay at JODO -- two couples and three young kids. The pictures don't really do the property justice: the water is crystal clear, with changing shades of blue and turquoise throughout the day from morning through mid day to sunset. High tide is not ideal for very small toddlers, as the stretch of sand becomes only about 1-2 feet against the rocks (which are gorgeous and easy to walk on unless you need special accommodations) but our 3-5 year olds were fine. Low tide provides an ample 10-15 feet or more of white sand, with plenty of room to walk up and down the beach in seclusion. Shells galore, a few sea urchins, star fish, etc. The home is well equipped, but you will need to stock up on groceries on the main island if you are picky about what you eat throughout the day (e.g., specific brands of items or dietary restrictions) as the shops on North Caicos are limited. Our group did not shop there until half way through the trip when we were visiting for a boating charter, and we were just fine with the exception of not being able to find coffee. All four of the bedrooms are large, with the downstairs master being really huge -- an office and huge walk-in closet, etc. We had a great time relaxing at the house, swimming, exploring North & Middle Caicos, as well as taking a few boating charters. Highly recommend!

Amazing secluded private beach!!!

If you want your own private beach and barely see other people around you should come to Jodo. If you like water sports in very tranquil waters you should come to jodo!! We had the best time there! From the moment you arrive, Regine and Patti take care of every little detail. We stayed at the guest house and spent the most wonderful time! Thanks John for sharing this piece of heaven!!!

Love Jodo Junior

We had a great week at Jodo. We stayed in the smaller of the two homes and it was perfect for the 4 of us. We were a little concerned that there was not AC through the whole house but to be totally honest we did not need it. The house is very well equipped and had everything we needed. The beach is great and water was great for snorkeling. We have been to North Caicos many times and it has everything that you need. There are more stores every year and we were able to get everything we needed. The only difference is that the meats are frozen as opposed to ready to cook. The grocery shipments arrive on monday night so anything that the stores do not have they will order specifically for you. (Thanks Derry and Ricola at Dards Grocery) You can also email ahead and they will have it for you as well. Don't stress and rush from the airport to the IGA and then the boat. On Provo if you are going to buy groceries stop at Quality Foods near the hospital and not the IGA. It is way cheaper.
Make sure you go to Pumpkin Bluff Beach when you are there. It is better than Grace Bay!
John,Regina and Patti were great and we had no issues at all. We were going to reserve again for next year but by the time we logged in to VRBO when we arrived back in Canada it was already booked up.
The big house looks amazing so if you have a bigger group go ahead and book it!

Best Kept Secret

In October, my wife and I returned from our 3rd two week stay at Jodo in as many years. After our first stay, we were hooked. We have been fortunate enough to stay in both properties on the resort and I can tell you both options are 5 stars! Quite honestly they deserve 10 STARS! The owner John has done a wonderful job creating a truly unforgettable environment. I will not rehash all the accolades of previous reviews regarding the property and the amenities they offer… Trust me they are all 100% spot on. As others have experienced, we literally never saw a single soul on the private beach during all three of our visits. We also walked the beach in both directions from the resort every day, and again deserted. OK, one day we did see a catamaran sail by and we did see the locals fishing for bait fish, but that's it! I think what makes this property so special is the effort of all the people supporting the property. I cannot say enough about Patti and Regine who make sure that you will want for nothing during your stay. Should you require anything, rest assured it will be addressed ASAP.
We've stayed on Provo many times before we discovered North Caicos, and will never go back. We were thrilled to get away from the busy beaches and crowded restaurants. If that's what you desire too, then Jodo is the place for you! Enjoy!
P.S. John, I don’t think we will ever be able to top the last three vacations we have spent at your property. It has become our secret spot for peace and tranquility. That is why we write this review reluctantly as we would prefer to keep your private paradise all to ourselves!

JODO =Paradise!

We were looking for a place that would allow us to totally relax-and we found it! The guest house was comfortable and more than met our needs. The beach, oh the beach was like nothing we'd ever seen. I never knew so many shades of blue existed. We enjoyed using the provided kayaks, snorkeling gear, lounge chairs, rocking chairs, and Nemo (we used the lounge chairs everyday!).
We did rent a car for a day. It was well worth it. Three Mary Cays, Bottleneck Creek, and Mudjin Harbour were beautiful beyond description. We found The Silver Palm Restaurant and had a delicious fresh seafood dinner. Be sure to call first, dinner is by rsvp only!
John, you have exceptional people to represent JODO. It was a pleasure to meet Mr. Gray, Mac, Patti and Regine.

Back to Jodo for the 4th time--we can't live without our fix!

My husband and I had a great time at Jodo again. The Jodo staff is excellent, very accommodating and helpful. Everyone goes above and beyond to insure your experience is first rate! I can't say enough good things about the house, the property , the beautiful beach...I could go on. The view of the ocean from the downstairs master bedroom is awesome..All the windows face the ocean--you can hear the surf at night and the cool breeze was wonderful . The gourmet kitchen had everything we needed. My husband is a chef and he was thrilled by the flat top. We had many great meals on the porch. The ocean and kayaks are great--there really is everything you could possibly want here.
Patti and her husband were just awesome..we felt like we were coming home. We will be coming back next year for our "fix"..we have decided we can't live without it.

Unparalled combination of Privacy and Accomodations

Just returned from two wonderful weeks at JODO. Walked the beach, relaxed in the ocean, and enjoyed cooking and hanging out in the Guest House. All support staff were 5 star - from Taxi drivers to Regine and Patti. Had a great day of fishing with Big D (caught dinner for several meals). All restaurants very accommodating, but really enjoyed Friday Barbecue at My Dee's where we met a group of 30 astrology lovers who were on North Caicos to watch several nights of spectacular meteor showers in the lovely Caribbean skies.

Quiet slice of paradise!

If you like privacy, seclusion, and pure relaxation, this is the place for you. My husband and I along with our two teenage daughters stayed for 7 days, and it was very hard to leave. John, Patti, Regine, rental car, and taxi staff were all fantastic! They help you plan for groceries and travel to/from airport. I'd recommend a rental car if you want to explore North and Middle while you stay.
Use of the paddle boards, snorkel gear, and kayaks were a huge bonus. This allowed us to be as active as we wanted right close to home. JODO is set up perfect for 4 people who like to cook and relax in the great outdoors.
We had a fantastic time with Captain Big D learning how to dive for conch which we cooked that night and snorkel in beautiful, secluded waters. Any of the local restaurants on North and Middle were amazing.
We can't wait to return!

Simply Serene

My wife and I just returned from a 10 day stay at Jodo. This place is perfect if you just want some peace and quiet or if you are looking for fully active days.. The property is beautiful being right on the beach and you have the whole beach pretty much to yourself. The locals (belongers) are very friendly and helpful. We sampled a few of the local restaurants - all are excellent. A visit to Mudjin Harbour with its natural beauty is a must. We never ran out of things to do. If you enjoy kayaking, paddle boarding, snorkelling or fishing then you will love this place.

Unbelievable beach paradise!

We decided to rent JODO to celebrate my Dad's 90th birthday. This property was perfect for our celebration. There were 11 in our party and we rented both villas and it couldn't have been any better. The pictures do not lie, this is truly paradise. We had the beach to ourselves the whole time and enjoyed kayaking, swimming, snorkeling, stand up paddle boarding, playing pool and darts and other fun activities right at the property. We really loved having family time together and the memories will last a lifetime.
Right in front of the house about 100 feet from the shore were three large pieces of coral where we saw some amazing fish, better than any expensive snorkel trip that I have been on. The kitchen was a dream to cook in and wished that I could have one like that at home.
Seven of us went fishing one day with Dedrick at One Stop Sporting Shop and actually caught a 200 pound marlin. We also caught enough barracuda for some amazing fish meals for the rest of our trip. We only rented a car for one day to spend the day having lunch at Mudjin Harbor, but was happier with the waterfront at JODO.
John, the owner was wonderful to work with and I also can't say enough for Regine and Patti who answered all our questions before and during our trip. They really helped with all the little details like taxi, ferry and grocery details.
I would recommend this house to anyone who wants to get away to a quiet relaxing vacation.

Turks & Caicos Escape

Our group of 6 (3 couples) was wanting to be away from all of the hustle and bustle of resorts and crowded beaches and we are happy to report that JODO does just that. Patti, Regine and Daniel were terrific at getting us situated from the time we arrived (airport taxi to ferry) to getting us back to the ferry and airport. So, the remoteness was not a problem. The house is lovely and each of us had much needed a/c as the rains brought high humidity. You won't be able to find a lovelier setting on a secluded beach. Renting a car is highly recommended in order to get around, preferably an suv as roads are often times less than ideal. Snorkeling is right outside the back patio. Had a ton of fun with Capt D on several fishing/snorkeling excursions. Thanks for a great week, JODO!

Awesome house and beach!!

My wife and I chose Jodo for our one year anniversary and it was extremely romantic and the perfect getaway. Not only were we able to have our privacy we wanted but we had our very own beach. We didn't see another person on that beach or near it the entire two weeks we were at JODO. The electric cart (NEMO) was very useful to cart around the property and haul the paddle boards and kayak to the ocean. The property manager Regine was always available for assistance 24 hours a day and met us at the ferry to pick us up and bring us to JODO. Patty the caretaker went above and beyond and made a bouquet of flowers our of the gardens at JODO and a homemade card for our anniversary.

My wife and I stayed in the guest house which was a 5 star accommodation with a 5 star staff! Top notch kitchen, bath room, living area, and with every comfort of home. Nemo, the golf cart, is a blast to get you to and from the beach. The most impressive thing about the property is the pristine beach and isolation. It is truly like being on your own island getaway. Pure tranquility!!!! I would really like to thank John, the owner, for sharing his home as well as the Jodo staff for all their efforts which made our stay perfect! What a wonderful place JODO is! Thank you to the owner, John, for sharing his paradise! The house has everything you'll need for a very special week with either friends or family! We stayed with our children, ages 7 and 9, who stayed busy with all of the swimming, exploring, paddle boarding, kayaking, shelling, and playing on the most beautiful beach they'd ever seen! We love the serenity and simplicity of North Caicos, but it's great to stay at a house that has all you'll need for a posh, comfortable, and relaxing vacation! Jodo Sandy Point Guest House

My husband, myself, and our two boys just returned from our two week stay at Jodo. The guest house had everything you could ever need. The kitchen was so well-equipped. Not to mention, everything worked! Appliances, TV, dvd player, ect...Not that you want to spend much time watching TV. It is far better to enjoy the gorgeous beach just steps from your door. The local people on the island were so friendly. That is, when you actually see people. The island is so quiet and peaceful that it is impossible to run into too many people anywhere. We loved lunches out at the Last Chance restaurant out over looking the stunning Bottle Creek. The afternoons we loved to swim and relax at our own beautiful beach at Jodo. Regine, our property manager, was wonderful and always available if we had any questions or needed anything. We look forward to returning next year!

A Moment of Time in Paradise

This was our second visit to Jodo although our first stay was in the Guest House as the Main House was unfinished. It was wonderful to see the amazing job that John has done in completing this magnificent house. From the double entrance doors with embossed copper motif to the panoramic vista that greets you as you walk through the doors. From every angle the turquoise sea just 20 feet or so away is so beautiful. We slept in the very comfortable king bed of the main floor master, with full ensuite and walk in closet. Each night, with sliding doors open (the island is very clean and safe), we were lulled to sleep by the sound of the waves gently washing against the shore. For entertainment, the house is equipped with big screen TV, surround sound system, Wii player as well as a games room with a billiards table. We spent two weeks at Jodo in complete comfort and luxury. During our second week, we rented a car (which I would recommend). Trips to Three Mary Cay and Mudjin Harbor are a must as well as dinners at Silver Palm restaurant and the Barracuda bar. The island is a quiet Paradise. If you come seeking night clubs and shopping then you will be disappointed but if you seek a quiet beautiful getaway, this cannot be surpassed. This trip, we planned our meals in advance and really stocked up on food in Provo before crossing on the ferry. This worked out great as the large, very well equipped kitchen meant we cooked many of our meals at the house. We then sat on the front porch with a glass of wine to watch a different incredible sunset each night.
Thanks John for a second amazing visit to Jodo and a slice of paradise. We're back in Canada in March but at least we have our tans, pictures and memories to share.

We're Booked to Come Back Again!

Wow! Where do I begin? The week after we arrived back to the States, we immediately booked time at the Jodo again for the same week next year.
John is an unbelievable human being. He is so caring, compassionate and giving. He shared with me the story of how Jodo came to be, and it is absolutely amazing. John is a passionate person who has created a one-of-a-kind location. I can’t thank John enough for creating Jodo and sharing it with everyone. It was absolutely amazing.
Also, John’s team is awesome. Regine greeted us at the ferry and was so gracious to take all of our luggage over to Jodo. It was kind of amazing when we first got there, going up the hill, seeing the electric gates open up, and driving down the long driveway. Then, out of nowhere, we saw the blue waters, Jodo, and the beautiful home appear.
We opened up the doors and went inside. We were in awe. The ceilings were 25 to 30 feet high. The surfboards on display each had unique stories associated with them, which John shared with us. All of the rooms were so tastefully done with so much attention to detail.
The house has every possible amenity you could ever want. It is so tastefully decorated, and it doesn’t have a feeling of a rental property or that you are in someone else’s home. It’s the kind of place that you get very quickly acclimated to and comfortable with.
My wife and I took our two girls (7 and 10) on this trip. We only used two of the four bedrooms. Our daughters stayed downstairs on a really cool sleigh bed, and my wife and I were upstairs on the second floor. The views from this home were breathtaking, and the sunsets were absolutely magnificent — better than any of the pictures that you might have already viewed on the website.
We only saw five people the entire time of our stay, which was a week.
There was nothing better than having our own private beach, and this truly was. The sandy beach in front of the house was just awesome. We were able to go out each morning and swim there. We also went on a number of wonderful walks. You could walk in one direction for about half a mile before seeing any other houses.
This house is a 10 out of 10. Working with John is a 10 out of 10. Our family had so many positive, memorable times in this home filled with love, joy and happiness. We are forever grateful that John created such a place and shared it. I thank John from the bottom of my heart for creating this. We are looking forward to coming back!

Pure Relaxation

What a wonderful trip to JODO we had an amazing time of 2 weeks in pure Turks and Caicos.
John, Regine, Patti and staff made it so easy to get there and enjoy our trip! So relaxing and the Main Villa was truly a dream accommodation!!!! We had a lot of fun and laughs using the surf boards, paddle boards, snorkeling gear, kayaks and driving Nemo!!!��
We also rented a car to see the rest of the island and explore Middle Caicos as well. We met great people and also had great places to eat! I would recommend this beautiful escape to anyone that wants to get away and truly enjoy an island experience!!!! It will change you for the better forever!!

First time using VRBO and don't think any other place on this site/service can possibly live up to the experience we had at JODO. The pictures online do not do the place justice. When you arrive, the place is immaculate and has been perfectly prepared. The service from the moment the inquire, right through to the time you have left, is 5-star by any standard. And the privacy the place affords is also unmatched. As far as the eye can see, just beach and water and not a single other person.
And a special shout out to Regine and Patti who made the stay absolutely effortless for us. What a great crew and spectacular place.
I am already coordinating calendars for several more family as well as friend vacations to JODO.

Caribbean Cottage ~ off the charts!

We had stayed already for a week in the huge main house which was a fantastic decadent treat. We loved our tranquil location so much that we decided to extend our holiday for another 5 days. Unfortunately the main house was already booked but luckily the cottage was available. I thought I might of been a little disappointed but hell no the COTTAGE ROCKS and was just simply perfect for the 2 of us. The kitchen was bang on the money again with super pots and pans, sharp knives etc. Water maker, BBQ, even a washer and dryer which seemed rather large to deal with some small bikinis & beach wraps! We barely saw the new arrivals as they seemed to be out exploring further afield but one evening we all got together and shared island tips, yummy cocktails and a good spaghetti. Then we sat down at the gazebo watching for shooting stars.....bliss. Provisioning for food & drink on North Caicos was suprisingly very good and Mark was always at hand if you needed anything. We bought veggies from the Government Farm.

Pure Tranquility

if you ever wanted to feel like you were dropped on a deserted island, but have 5 star accommodations, well this is your place. JODO was a piece of paradise that feels like it was set up just for you. Between paddle boarding, kayaking and snorkeling there was plenty to do. Just laying around on the beautiful beach area overlooking the water was joy in itself. I can not even describe how beautiful the water was. We rented the "Peacefinder" which came in handy when we needed to replenish our supplies (alcohol and food),or just explore the island. Between John, Gray, Mac and Mark, all your needs will be met. Highly recommend JODO for anyone looking to slow their pace down to zero for the week.

To say JODO is paradise is an understatement!!! We chose JODO for our honeymoon based on previous reviews, and let me tell you....it EXCEEDED the hype!!! John was wonderful to deal with and provided priceless information to prepare us for our trip. Gray met us in Provo and shuttled us around several places, including a store to get sunglasses for my husband because he lost his in transit. Mac was waiting for us in North at the ferry and took us to JODO, where Mark was waiting for us and introduced us to nirvana!! Our luggage didn't make it, but Mark went to the ferry to retrieve it and delivered it to the house while we were sleeping...what service!
Everyone we met on the islands was extremely nice and welcoming. You MUST visit Miss B....wonderful person and amazing food! Other than when we ventured out on North and Middle, we did not see a soul on the beach for the entire week...which is EXACTLY what we wanted for our honeymoon. We relaxed like never before. We loved snorkeling and found the reef right off of the beach, where angel fish followed us around everyday. My husband even saw a baby nurse shark....so cool!
John, thank you for sharing the most wonderful place I've ever been with us!! You truly made it a honeymoon we will NEVER forget!!! And we will be back....SOON!!!!!

This was our second visit to JodoResort, and we are planning a third. John has done an amazing job making Jodo feel like home. Everything you need for your trip, he has for you. Fully stocked kitchen, and very modern house furnishings. The real prize is the beach. Beautiful clear water, great snorkeling, and two relaxing cabanas to enjoy. Completely private. Mark is always available and extremely helpful. Make sure you rent the PeaceFinder, and visit Mudjin Harbor on Middle Caicos. We can't say enough about this place. Jodo is an outstanding villa (super clean and maintained, and modern) and the location on a long secluded beach is perfect. It is a real privilege when folks like John place trust in others (strangers like us from far away;) to rent his special place and let us share in the experience. We have rented many villas over the years and we must say that John (owner), Mark (greeter and on-island contact and all-around McGyver!), Mac (North Caicos taxi pickup at ferry), Gray (taxi pickup at Provo airport), etc, have really nailed it for how to do it best - every detail for us was so well coordinated. Such personable, warm and friendly folks. From pre-booking questions, to pre-trip, to in-trip and post-trip, it has all been excellent, first class and prompt. In fact, to anyone who is 'nervous' about going the villa rental route for the first time (I can remember our first try at it years ago!), I would say that Jodo has created an experience and taken care of all the details to take any first-timer's worries away. You don't need to worry about anything at Jodo. Renting Mark's Peacefinder was a great experience and a must-do to visit Middle Caicos and explore North Caicos. On our first day, Sammy the Stingray came by for a friendly visit to say hello. One of the highlights of our trip was on the last full day when we found a completely harmless baby nurse shark pup basking in the shallows.Recommended for: Adventure Seekers, Sightseeing, Romantic Getaway

Yes, 5+ stars! It was a super week. Your villa is outstanding and the location is perfect. I thought it would be easy to write a review for Jodo, but how can you encapsulate such a wonderful place in words so that others can get a true sense of it? We spent countless hours searching for a VRBO on the different islands in the Caribbean before stumbling across Jodo in the beautiful Turks and Caicos Islands. If you are looking for nightlife, bars and restaurants, shopping, lots of people, touristy activities etc., then Jodo is not the place for you. If, however, you are looking for solitude, peace and tranquility, PRIVACY, a pristine beach for swimming, a perfect stretch of beach for walking, luxurious accommodations with all the amenities you can think of, all with breathtaking sunsets, then we cannot recommend a better place than Jodo. Just as everyone before us has said, the organization of the vacation was a breeze from the first to the last contact with John, the owner, and the entire Team Jodo. The few things we originally had concern of were complete non-issues: transportation, food, and safety. Once Mark got us settled in, he left us and we were literally in our own personal and private paradise for a week, while he was just a phone call away for anything we would have needed. We are people who rarely sit still and honestly cannot remember the last time we felt so relaxed. Our bodies were completely rejuvenated when we returned home. We did plenty of resting, napping, and meditating in the sun or in the shade of the tiki huts, however, we didn't sleep our vacation away! There is plenty to do right on the property! Paddle boards, kayaks, snorkeling equipment, etc. are all provided for guests to use along with Nemo, the little electric car that can be used to go from beach chair to house and back when you just don't feel like walking those few yards. :) We saw a few people, but only when we went for walks way down the beach or when we rented a car one day from Mark and ventured over to Middle Caicos. We feel like we are cheating this review as we could not possibly say enough positive things about John and the amazing place he has created and is willing to share with others. We would give it 10 stars if we could! Truthfully, the ONLY negative, was that we had to leave it. It was THE perfect place to spend our 25th anniversary and feel that, because of our choice in VRBO, this was a vacation that will truly be unmatched in our lifetime.

Where do I begin to explain how WONDERFUL this place is?? Let's start with the owner, John. What an amazing gentleman! From start to finish, he got you covered. Everything is planned for you. From the transportation to the ferry from a kind man named Grey, then transportation from the ferry to JODO from another kind soul, Mac. And of course once you get there you meet an extremely helpful and kind man named Mark!! Now, let's get to JODO. When you first walk in you are taken back by the beautiful designed kitchen and living area. The super high ceilings are truly amazing. Everything that you need for cooking is at JODO. Yes, it's true! John thought of everything. He even has a potato ricer and cake and Bundt pans!! Each room here is extremely beautiful and so well furnished. Clean crisp linens await your sun kissed body. They were top notch and so comfortable. The beds were like heaven! Now let's talk about the beach. I guarantee you have never seen water like this. The pictures give it no justice. The lovely wrap around porch is a nice touch. We walked along the beach each day and found tons of conch shells. At low tide is when we swam and did some surf fishing. We caught snapper and bone fish. At high tide we spent our time listening to the waves and playing in the sand. Nemo was a nice touch. Our girls liked to just take a ride around the house for no reason, just for fun, lol. We even had a chef ( Miss B) come in and cook an out-of-sight, amazing dinner. You MUST stop by her restaurant! The best Lobster Bisque I have ever had in my life!!! There are tons of things to do at JODO. Snorkeling, swimming, fishing, site seeing, cooking, grilling, kayaking, ect. The days were full of fun. Each day I opened my eyes, I was excited to think of what the day had in store for us!! You have to get to JODO!! It is a life changing experience!

Jodo North Caicos was the best vacation I think I have ever had I've been to Jamaica Bahamas Mexico and Dominica. All of the places were beautiful but nothing can compare to Jodo North Caicos. It was more than paradise. It was a vacation that I would do over and over agaiin.

We just returned from our trip to Jodo last night and I have to say we found a little piece of heaven. John has everything set up so all you need to do is book your flight and show up. Gray and Mac were our taxi drivers both ways and were very professional, punctual and helpful. Mark met us at Jodo and showed us how to use everything and where it was located. John and Mark were available during all hours and no question was too small. The list of awesomeness is too long to write down. Some of the highlights were the top of the line kitchen...that stove makes me come up with a reason to cook. The paddle boards and kayaks were great, very convenient to have on the property. Being able to walk for miles each way was very cool, we found some empty conchs and coral to add to the rocks on the property. We never had any issue at all and the only bad thing was that we had to leave. It was one of a kind experience and we can't wait to come back. I can honestly say that there wasn't anything that wasn't thought of, from the most comfortable beds ever to the utensils in the kitchen. I can't see how anyone could feel anything other than relaxed and content at Jodo, it's almost as if this place is peace and tranquility.

If you can swim this house is for you! The sun sets right into the water! Val loved the covered porch and the awesome Tiki hut to relax under. She loved to run on the isolated beach! My son Alexander (14) was inspired to paint two works of art to donate to Jodo for future guests to see. He and I loved the antique pool table and furniture. The ocean view is spectacular from the main house! It is Big and Awesome! The Guest house is also awesome ! It is a must to swim in the warm water at least twice a day! Mark will help to make you feel at home! He is committed to making your stay pleasant and worry free! We used Gray to pick us up at the airport and return 14 days later. He likes Toasted IGA roast beef on heated whole wheat. This is a great way to start your vacation adventure! Mack of M&M taxi on north will take you to the resort. He likes Dole strawberry Kiwi. Leave a little love where ever you go on the island. Feel free to adventure about in the peace finder. You will meet friendly people who like friendly people too! Truly amazing. The house has everything you need and the entire team was friendly and accommodating. Food was our biggest worry and it turned out to be a non issue. Just make sure you do your shopping in Provo for your big items. They will have plenty of staple items in North. And the best time to shop on north is either Tuesday or Wednesday as the new shipment comes in on Monday night. North Cacios is truly a special place with the old world Caribbean feel and we will return sooner than later. We loved the people and culture of these islands and Never felt unsafe or worried about anything or anyone. Our biggest highlight was the valentines day regatta where we came in second place in our class! Make sure you rent a car and see the islands! We toured around and found some amazing spots! If you are thinking of visiting these islands don't hesitate. It was our best vacation ever. Period. GO JODO‼️

Reviewed 1 week ago for a stay in January 2015The owner, John, was a pleasure to deal with. He was extremely helpful throughout the whole booking process from quick email responses to helpful suggestions and recommendations. He organized for us a pick up by a local taxi driver from the airport to ferry and on the return trip back to the airport.
At the villa, we were greeted by Mark, who was very gracious and helpful. He provided a great deal of information about the activities around the villa and gave us some nice tips about exploring the island. Getting a car rental with Mark for a day trip to the caves and middle Caicos was a nice option.
The minute we saw the villa and the beach, we realized we are in paradise. It was beyond our expectations. The photos, although beautiful, don’t compare to the majestic beauty experienced in real life.
The villa itself offers beauty and sophistication of a 5 star hotel and the warmth and convenience of a nice summer home. We immediately felt at ease there. The house is tastefully decorated with many vintage and custom made furniture pieces and the collectable surfboards displayed on the walls. The master bedroom on the first floor offers almost 180 degree view of the beach and a beautiful turquoise sea. There is a study room next to it and a walk in closet that is a size of my NYC master bedroom. There is a large bathroom with double sink, shower and Jacuzzi. The second bedroom upstairs with four-poster bed has a terrace and offers a breathtaking view of the sea. There are two more bedroom suites overlooking the beautifully maintained gardens.
The entertainment room has dartboard and a nice pool table and was a favorite room for my kids and my husband after dark. Our kids also appreciated a 60” flat screen TV and a nice selections of DVDs for them to watch.
Kitchen/living room is very spacious with a bar counter and a custom made dining table. Kitchen is well equipped with all possible high end appliances that one might think off.
Another great thing about Jodo is that it comes equipped with kayaks, paddleboards and snorkeling equipment for guests to use. All the water activities certainly made our days at Jodo even more exciting. The beach is gorgeous, turquoise sea is calm and shallow, and there was nobody but us.
We all had a fabulous stay and would love to come back.

Reviewed 2 weeks ago for a stay in January 2015I looked at a lot of countries, hotels, bungalows, underwater vessels and other pretty unique destinations before I decided to to take my soon to be fiancé to JODO (yes, we actually got engaged here).
It was a great decision. We stayed at the guest house, but the name really doesn't do it justice since it's bigger than the house I grew up in. It's located beautifully on a private beach with nothing to bother you but the very occasional fishing boat going by in the distance. We were there for 8 days and didn't see a single human near our beach. Being from New York City, that was exactly what we were looking for. And, believe me, there is no better place to sip piña coladas, read books and just relax than JODO's Tiki Hut.
But if you're feeling adventurous the house has everything you need for a day trip, snorkeling equipment, kayaks, paddle boards and, of course, the "The Piece Finder" car for day trips around North Caicos or even Middle Caicos. there's even a set up for late night bonfires. Highly recommended.
On top of the very special place and island, John and Mark (the property manager) are nothing but the perfect hosts. They're easy going, yet accommodating and everything from when you land in Provo to when you leave again is thought of.
In other words: if you're looking for a special, private and relaxing getaway, you found it.

My wife and I were looking for a secluded getaway for our honeymoon. JODO was everything we were looking for and then some. Definitely 5 Stars!! The villa was wonderful, the amenities were excellent and we truly soaked up the atmosphere everyday. The water, beach and sunsets were amazing and we utilized the kayaks, paddleboards, nemo, the hammock, and even the floating rafts. We explored the island with the "peacefinder" and took in the fish fry from Miss B's and lunch at The Last Chance. Mark was very helpful and always accommodating. Grey was great as well....he was waiting for us at the airport, took us to the IGA in Provo and off the ferry and then was waiting for us on our return. Everything went so smooth without a hitch. We did not see a single soul during our stay at the villa, which was exactly what we were looking for...a private and secluded honeymoon getaway!! When we did go into town, the locals were so friendly and accommodating as well. We will definitely be back and perhaps bring friends or family with us next time. I highly recommend JODO to everyone and will definitely spread the word about your paradise. We spent the week of New Years at JODO in the main villa and found just what we had hoped for - a peaceful retreat right on a remote beach with no other people in sight. The large house exceeded our expectations - it's beautiful, new, and tastefully furnished, with wrap around patio doors to catch the trade winds. The gorgeous fully outfitted kitchen in the great room made it fun to cook with such an incredible view. Lots of toys outside for our use kept us in the water most of the day. Incredibly clear water and terrific snorkeling - we saw a small shark, a ray, lobster, an eel, and lots of colorful fish in the coral very near "our" beach. SUP boarding was terrific in the tranquil water of the bay, and kayaking all over gave us some great exercise and incredible views. Gray and Mac provided reliable transport to and from the ferry and Mark was so helpful - be sure to rent his vehicle so you can tour around, see Mudjin Harbor on Middle Caicos, and have a few great meals as we did at Miss B's. Also sleep in the air conditioning as the no see-ums can get through the screens at night - and use baby oil for bite protection in the morning and evenings. We had such a memorable time - all the great things you are reading in the reviews are true - we loved it there! I don't think we can say enough good things about our stay at Jodo! This will probably sound just like the previous reviews, but I know they are all accurate. First, I'll list some of our general impression, then some of our recommendations for future stays. As with any place, after visiting the first time, you get a good understanding of what you might do on the next visit. We do hope to visit Jodo again in the future. This was the perfect place for us to unwind and get away from everything. We absolutely loved the seclusion and the peacefulness of the island. Mark, Mac, Gray, and the people that John has working with him, make the experience fantastic and truly worry-free. We loved having the items such as the snorkel gear and the kayaks at our disposal. Mark was very flexible in renting us his vehicle for a couple of days to tour and we liked using the golf cart on the property. We really did not hear any vehicles, watercraft, or planes during our stay. It was just us and the ocean, and the evenings were black with stars. We loved being on the beach and exploring north and middle Caicos on a couple days. During the 9 days, I think we only came across a handful of people on the Sandy Point area. Take a day or two and explore the rest of North and Middle Caicos. The people are very friendly and the beaches are beautiful. Thank you John for developing the perfect place to unwind and enjoy 9 days. A few recommendations for future visitors and things we know that we would do a bit differently. Definitely bring bug spray and baby oil for the no-see-ums (sand fleas). As long as there is a breeze it is ok, but if the breeze dies, they can be troublesome in the evening. However, they were not too much of an issue. If you're going to be there for more than a few days, our recommendation is to stop with Gray (which we did) in Provo at the IGA to get groceries and plan meals. The groceries in North and Middle are more like convenience stores, but decent for a few small things. Beer is very expensive in North, so purchase it in Provo. Mark is very flexible with his rental cars, so definitely plan to rent it for a day or two to restock some supplies or tour the island. Jodo is pretty secluded so you'll need a vehicle to get to any of the stores or restaurants, unless you go to the cafe at the ferry dock. We found that all we needed was a car for 1-3 days during our 9 days since we loved spending nice quiet days at Jodo.Recommended for: Romantic Getaway

Reviewed December 2, 2014 for a stay in November 2014This incredible property was the antidote to our highly stressful lives. You are met at the airport by Mr. Gray and graciously taken to a supermarket to stock up on a few essentials before you are dropped off at the ferry for your ride to North Caicos. After a scenic 30 minute ride you arrive to be met by Mac who will take you to JODO. Before you leave the ferry stop, Mack calls Mark so you will be met at JODO. When you arrive at the beach house the first thing that takes your breath away is the scenic expanse of the blue-green Caribbean. Mark shows you how every thing works, makes a rental vehicle available if you want one and caters to your every request. Waking up in the morning and sipping tea on the upstairs balcony while gazing out over the ocean is mesmerizing. There were no other humans on the pristine beach for miles. The guest house itself is well appointed, you only need to bring/get food and spices. Don't miss going to Miss B's a few miles down the road for the fish fries for Wednesday lunch when Lovey is performing. Great food, great people and great music! A+++ rating with easy coordination with John and his magnificent counterparts on the island.

Hi John, Everything was wonderful! This was out third trip to Turks and it was our best. I'm sure we won't be able to top Jodo. We have rented many homes/condo's in Turks, the Cayman's, Belize, etc., but have never stayed anywhere as nice as Jodo. We sure appreciate the use of the kayak's, Nemo, etc. Mark does a great job in explaining everything about the property and the island.....unlike the other places we have stayed. We may return next April but it looks like Jodo is pretty booked up already.....not a surprise. For a future trip we may want to book your large house for our kids to stay with us. My son is a Blackhawk pilot in the Army so we usually have to wait to see where he will be before we make plans. I will also be putting an excellent review on Trip Advisor. Thanks again!

This was our third trip to North Caicos and our best trip of all! You can read all the reviews but they're all the same. Jodo is awesome. Everything you could possibly need is provided. The pictures just don't do it justice. The caretaker Mark is great. Be sure to rent a vehicle from him and see some of the island too, even though you won't want to leave Jodo. Jodo isn't just a name, it's a frame of mind. We can't wait to return. Hi John! Our trip was fabulous!!! We could not have found a better place to be together, just he and I. We had so much fun snorkeling and sunbathing. Mark and Mac were great at helping us find some local fisherman to buy the fresh catch for our dinners. And Nemo was so much fun! The sand flies were a bit of a nuisance, but nothing we couldn't handle, as we are both outdoorsy type of people. Baby oil helped, as suggested by others in the guestbook. The water was just gorgeous. We didn't see anyone the whole time (except when we rented a car to go into Whitby for groceries) and that is exactly what we wanted. You provided everything we needed to have a relaxing and fun time. Thank you!! We are excited about the possibility of going back in the future. We were thinking about gathering a group of friends and staying in the main house in the next couple of years. It was mind-blowing to see such a beautiful piece of paradise that has not been consumed with condos. We told ourselves to remember this, for it may not take long to become that way. The accommodations, the scenery, the water, weather, and the few people of the island, made for the perfect honeymoon for Pete and I, and we could not be more appreciative!

I cannot say enough nice things about our stay at JODO! Everything, from the first email to John & Mark, to our wonderful stay there, to our correspondence afterwards, went smooth! It is everything he says it is, and more. *5 Stars for :: being picked up at the airport in Provo by Gray's Taxi and taken to the Graceway Grocery, then dropped off at the TCI Ferry in Leeward. Then being picked up in North Caicos by Mac and taken to JODO, just a short drive away. AWESOME SERVICE!! *5 Stars for :: Mark meeting us there at JODO to show us around, get us settled in. And for the awesome kick-a-round truck we used for 2 days to explore the rest of North & Middle Caicos. *5 Stars for :: Everything we could ever need or want in the house. The downstairs bedroom was so nice and cool at night to sleep in, the bed is sooo comfy! I had planned a great week's menu, and the kitchen had all the appliances/cookware needed! Loved having the washer/dryer ... as we were headed back to Provo for a more days after leaving JODO, it was nice to wash up our stuff before we left. *5 Stars for :: the beach and kayaks! We took the double-seater out to Parrot Cay for a nice trek. Most of the time, we snorkeled and relaxed in the sun or under the great tiki hut John & his team made just before our arrival. It was so relaxing to just sit there and listen to the waves. As we went there on the off season, during September, most places were closed down for the month. We did eat at Miss B's & the Green Cafe...and then ate at Frank's Cafe over in Bottle Creek. All 3 restaurants were great ...they were very welcoming and friendly, and the food was fantastic! I could go on and on about how much we enjoyed our visit. I took over 1500+ photos! Reviewed October 5, 2014 for a stay in September 2014We stayed there for 7 blissful nights. Perfect place to unwind & reboot. Never saw another soul on the private beach. Weather was beautiful, water was clear, sunshine was awesome! The guesthouse is superbly equipped with everything you'll ever need for a week in paradise. We purchased groceries in Provo, then took ferry over to North Caicos. John, the owner, has an awesome team to help you with everything: Gray will pick you up at airport & taken to the grocery, then to the ferry...pickup on North Caicos and taken to JODO by Mac. Mark will meet you at the house to get you acquainted with everything. Then they all leave, and you're left in blissful paradise! Loved every moment of it!

We had a fantastic time. Five stars. Snorkeling, kayaks, fishing were spectacular. My wife found tons of shells and loved it! We rented a car through Al Gardiner and went everywhere. The belongers are very friendly and we felt safe everywhere. Cardinal Arthur (of Middle Caicos) took us to Big Highest Key area to shell, see flamingos, snorkel, fish. Also fished with Howard at Last Chance. Alfred took my wife snorkeling and shelling when I was on the flats with Kevin. We watched all the Endless Summer movies at night and loved them too! We would like to bring my 10 year old son down there next time. He is dying to go there. His spring break is in March. I think you may already be booked up the entire month of March 2015. Is the big house available March 7-14? We may have to look to summer dates if March is already booked. Or let us know of cancellation. We loved Jodo and will be back! Marc & Stacey K.

PROS • Beautiful estate. • Secluded beach • Kayaks, snorkeling gear there • Washer/ Dryer • Potable water from tap • coolers provided • Portable Fans • Mark Mclean and Alfred tremendous resources. • More than enough beach Towels • Fully stocked kitchen/propane grill outside • House immaculate/modern • Iphone/Blackberry with minutes preloaded • Extra Bug dope/ Sunblock is there Be prepared for: (not really cons since outside of the owners control and these are not critical of Jodo, these are just part of North Caicos experience) • Late Summer = Rain = Mosquitos. Bring bug dope • Late Summer, Restaurants closed (However, you really have island to yourself) • Only one bedroom has A/C. potential issue w/ couples with kids. JodoResort was everything John said it was. We spent 8 days at Jodo and walked the beach 2+ miles daily and we saw two people one day a mile away and that was it. The house and beach were amazing. Nice snorkeling right off the beach. John has an excellent team in place to make your visit hassle free. Mark is outstanding. Always willing to help you in anyway. Grey and Mac made travel easy. The place was just like having your private island! We never left the place during our stay! We relaxed, snorkeled at our leisure and kayaked. We saw many types of fish, lobsters, a ray and a couple of barracudas right off the beach! It was nice just to go out when we wanted and not have to abide by someone else's schedule. Only 1 bedroom was air conditioned but we were offered the main house's master since it had a/c for the 2nd bdrm. My son didn't want to stay by himself so we used the fans to our advantage. Mark was great! We forgot a couple of things from the grocery store so he went and bought the things for us. All the transportation was set up for us coming and going. The food is expensive so be prepared. It is still cheaper to cook your own meals than to go to restaurants the whole time or stay at an all inclusive resort. We were so lucky during our stay! No rain, light winds and no bugs. It was great sitting outside at night on the porch in the rocking chairs looking at the stars! The place was spotless when we arrived and Mark walked us through everything. We are already talking about when we can return!

Ok-this was the year I was going to fly over the ocean & experience white sand, blue water (turquoise in this case), but where would I go? I looked into "All Inclusive" and Big Resorts but nothing caught my eye beside the prices which were astronomical!! Then for some reason (fate I call it) I found this absolutely beautiful place named JODO. I was soooooo excited not only that I found it, but it was EVERYTHING and more that I was looking for - Price Included!! So I sent the email out and John quickly responded back with a very warm welcome and ready to answer any and all questions I might have had. I knew quickly this was the "one". I contacted John back a few weeks later and booked my week!! We arrived in Provo to be picked up by "Grey" with a smile that was soooo reassuring. He brought us to the local IGA and Wine Cellar then to the ferry we went. On North Caicos side we were then greeted by "Mac" who brought us to JODO, so of course he was a FAV as well - "). There at JODO was Mark who showed us around, answered all our questions we had, then off he went to leave us at JODO all by ourselves. It was soooo peaceful and secluded and all ours to have to share with NO-ONE!! Someone pinch me!! JODO is Amazing!! John has EVERYTHING there for EVERYONE's wants and needs. We went snorkeling almost everyday, kayaking to Three Mary's Cays, even tried some paddle boarding (now that was interesting). We were greeted by the locals - "Sammy" the Stingray, "Larry" the Lizard, and only two other actually people while on JODO walking the beach at night. At night we brought the IPhone down to the beach and listened to the plethora of music which John has for your use (mins included) and watched the beautiful sunsets. The water was warmer than my pool water; probably 86 degrees I swear. We went swimming all day long from early am to late at night and NEVER cold what-so-ever. We took it all in and just relaxed and lived the Island lifestyle. Our time at JODO went slow - ") We were living the Dream and soooo loving it! Our last morning there was soooo sad; what were we going to do without JODO? Return is the answer!! JODO is an absolutely AMAZING place and my plan is to return next year and the year after that etc. JODO leaves you with a "peacefulness" inside knowing that you were part of something soooo much bigger words cant explain. We just came back from a great, albeit short, stay at Jodo. But it fit perfectly into his busy calendar. JODO is all that and more that the description and photos show....the location is spectacular, calm water all the time, huge sandy beach, beautiful sunset every night. The house furnishings are amazing, kitchen well equipped, comfy bed and air conditioned, movies abound, coolers of all kinds for cold beverages. Lots of sliders for cool breeze to come through. We enjoyed walking the beach, swimming, kayaking, sitting and rocking in the shade and the sun, saw fish, a big sting ray (jumped out of the water to get a fish, spectacular), local fishermen catching conch, sea urchins and even a land crab. The house is super clean, Mark your greeter is cooler than cool and very helpful with anything you may need. You shouldn't need anything though, it's all there and more. Don't wait to book your stay, it's phenomenal....

Our stay at Jodo was simply awesome. The first great thing mention is the service from the property owner and the property manager. They go above and beyond to take care of you, while at the same time they are respectful of your privacy. Regarding the property… a simple WOW is the best way to describe the view, the Caribbean Water, the Villa. North Caicos is filled with wonderful and friendly people. We enjoyed a day of fishing and our captain picked us and dropped us off right in front of Jodo, how great is that! To top it off, we caught some huge fish… so of course dining was a pleasure. If you are looking for a private, tranquil, and laid back vacation… Jodo is the way to go. All we can say…. It’s Awesome. Reviewed 1 week ago for a stay in June 2014First let me start off by saying that Jodo’s owner John is the BEST person I have ever rented from! He is so courteous and knowledgeable and he cheerfully and quickly answers each and every question I could come up with. You can tell he is passionate about the islands and his home and it shows. Renting from him made our big international trip virtually stress-free! Also, John has a great cast of support people in the islands who were all super fantastic as well. Gray provided our transport from the airport to the ferry and back and was so awesome and helpful. Mac picked us up on the North side and was also wonderful! And finally Mark was there to greet us at Jodo and we also rented a car (totally worth it to explore North and Middle!) from him and he was tremendously helpful and kind.
Now for the meat of the review! The house is absolutely wonderful. The furnishings and finishings are all beautiful and high class. The house is immaculately maintained and has everything you could need. We made full use of all the kitchen stuff (the blender is legendary!) and didn’t find that we needed anything. The Wifi and satellite cable were nice and reliable, even during the two huge thunderstorms we had. Having a fancy washer and dryer was also superb! There were more than enough beach and bath towels for the four of us (we did wash them all halfway through the week). Also, the cushioned lounge chairs on the beach were so comfortable and the shade was much appreciated! We also enjoyed a bonfire one night in the fire pit which was quite a nice feature. Of course all of the other amenities were fantastic and we made full use of them (snorkeling gear, kayaks, paddleboards, and floats!). We also made full use of Nemo the electric car. At first you think you won’t use it because the beach is only a few steps away, but in that hot Caribbean sun it was so handy to have Nemo to zip back to the house for drink refills or to help haul gear.
This brings the review to the showcase of the entire property, the beach! It is absolutely stunning! Right in front of the house there isn’t much seagrass and the water is the perfect depth and temperature for hours of floating. A few feet out to the left there is a little bit of coral reef that made for some fun little snorkeling. We also snorkeled further out over the seagrass and saw tons of fun stuff too! Additionally, we walked down the beach several hundred yards and saw really cool stuff including a giant star fish, a big sting ray, a humongous sea turtle, tons of conch and other shells, tons of sea urchins, and lots of fish. Now, the beach at Jodo isn’t what you typically picture as the quintessential “Caribbean” beach in that it isn’t flat, pure white sand gently leading down to the water. Instead, it is a rocky shore that you have to climb up and down rocks to get to the water. We actually preferred this as it lended to the “wild and untamed” feeling of being on a private, deserted beach (we only saw one person off in the distance on the beach our entire trip!). Also, when the tide was coming in, it lapped the rocks so you got to hear the sound of “waves” like you’d want to hear at the beach. The rocks aren’t out in the water, so once you’re in you’ll never want to get out! We went out to Wild Cow Run, Bambarra Beach, Mudjin Harbor, Three Mary’s Cay, and Whitby Beach and we kept saying that none of them were as good as our beach at Jodo. It really is the prefect beach!
There were only two negatives that we ran into the whole trip: the heat upstairs and the bugs. My sister and her boyfriend slept upstairs and found that when there was a breeze, they were ok sleeping up there with the doors open and the fans on. When there wasn’t a breeze though they roasted and were unable to sleep. So on the nights it was too hot up there, we made them a little bed on the floor in the air conditioned master bedroom and we were all just fine. The problem with the bugs was surprisingly NOT mosquitos! We actually didn’t see a single mosquito the whole trip! The problem was with the No-See-Ums, which weren’t deterred by the spray at all. They were absolutely unbearable starting at sunset and lasting until morning. We ended up completely eaten alive until a local told us to use baby oil. The baby oil is too thick on your skin that they can’t bite through and instead just drown and get stuck to your leg. A little gross, but much better than the terribly itchy bites! That being said, neither of those issues in any way ruined our trip and we would gladly get on a plane right now and return this second if we could! It just pays to be a little prepared and you’ll be fine. We loved Jodo and are already thinking about when we can return!

Hey John, Sad to be back home after such a fantastic vacation, but we're home! I'm glad everything was in order, we always try to leave the places we stay in better condition than when we arrived. Which of course was very difficult at Jodo because everything was so perfect! I'll definitely be writing a review on Tripadvisor and/or VRBO about our stay, but I wanted to tell you that Jodo is absolutely fantastic. The beach is just stunning! We went out and visited many other beaches, but we kept comparing them to the beach at Jodo and none of them were as good. Three Mary's Cay was really cool to explore for snorkeling, and my sister and her boyfriend saw a baby nurse shark there, but it still wasn't as calm as Jodo. We saw so many cool things right at the house! We saw a giant starfish, a sting ray, a giant turtle (couldn't tell if it was a loggerhead or leatherback or hawkbill, but it was about 4 feet long and had an almost white shell and a reddish head),tons of pretty fish, tons of conch and sea urchins, and soooo many pretty shells! It was incredible! Not to mention that absolutely perfect water. It was just awesome! We got out and snorkeled and paddled around and just loved it. Of course the house is gorgeous as well. The furniture is all top notch. The people we interacted with were all fantastic too. Both Gray and Mac were at the airport and ferries right when we arrived and they were so very nice and helpful. We definitely felt taken care of with them. And Mark is so awesome!! He's such a friendly guy and he was very helpful too. The rental car from him was great and we had a lot of fun taking it out for a spin. We went out to Daniel's for lunch (Daniel's wife said Hi!) and Mudjin Harbor Bar and Grille for dinner. We tried to go to the Barracuda Bar, but when we got there at 6:30, nobody was there. We had been out running around to the beaches and stuff and I completely forgot to call ahead. So we didn't get to meet Clifford, but there's always next time. We absolutely loved Jodo. That main house is going to be stunning when you get the furniture! It would be cool to get a big group of our family or friends and bring them down there, but we kinda want to keep it just to ourselves. Thanks again for everything!! You have been the best person I've ever rented from and I have no hesitation to pass more business your way, except that I selfishly don't want the secret of Jodo and the undeveloped beauty of North to get out! My husband and I visited JODO for our 10 day honeymoon. When searching for our honeymoon destination, we knew that we wanted something beautiful, remote, accommodating, and romantic. Upon arrival, it was clear we had made the right choice! JODO could not have been more perfect for what we wanted, and we both agreed it was the best vacation spot we have ever been to. John made everything so easy for us before up to arrival, and Mark met us at the house with a map and all of the information about the property and surrounding areas that we needed, along with a truck that we rented most of the trip. After landing at the airport in Provo, the taxi man was waiting for us and took us to a large grocery where we got most of our food for the week. We then took the ferry, which was about a 25 minute ride, and had another taxi man waiting to take us to the house. There are a couple local grocery stores near JODO that supply basics, but all are very small. We went back into Provo once during our stay to get a nice lunch and explore the lovely shops. We very much enjoyed snorkeling and the paddle boards, and also the fishing! We caught some fish right off the beach and we're able to grill them for a meal. We also went out boating and fishing with Dedrick, and caught a weeks supply of fish. The only negative, which turned out to not be a problem, is that there is only AC in the master bedroom, which keeps it very cool. However, with the doors and windows open, the house stays very breezy and comfortable. If you're looking for a place to go out on the town every night, JODO may not be for you. But, if you're looking for a private paradise, this is the place for you! We plan to come back as soon as possible!

We spent 8 memorable days at JODO in North Caicos for our honeymoon. The JODO estate is private but still close enough to locally owned grocery stores, restaurants, and sites to see.
The view from JODO was breathtaking and the house is fully equipped with all the amenities of home. We also had all the outdoor beach gear we needed for days of fun in the sun.
John and Mark were the greatest hosts and made sure we had everything we could possibly need. JODO was equipped with all the amenities from home so we had everything we needed to have breakfast with the sunrise and dinner watching it set.
When we were not at JODO we enjoyed eating at Miss B's, MyDee's, and the Barracuda Grill. We snorkeled, went diving with Big "D" of One Stop Sporting Shop, and visited Mudjin Harbour in Middle Caicos for a great lunch and more snorkeling. On the way to Mudjin Harbour we also visited the Local Co-Op close to Daniel's Cafe to browse local artists handmade goods.
We loved our visit to North Caicos and JODO. While we were still there we started planning our next trip during lobster season.
Would I recommend this vacation rental to my best friend? Yes.

JODO was the most perfect destination for our honeymoon, it was secluded, beautiful and very comfortable. John has really gone above and beyond to make sure that his guests receive 5-star treatment during their visit to North Caicos. We used the paddleboards, kayaks, beach chairs and coolers daily and saw some really beautiful fish on the reefs just off the beach. He provided us with every ammenity we could ever possibly have needed. The sunsets are the most gorgeous I've ever seen, the locals are super friendly, Mark the property manager is great and John is incredibly responsive and dedicated to his guests. My husband and I are already talking about when we can plan our next trip to JODO. Thank you, John!!

JODO was the perfect getaway for my annual Caribbean girls’ trip! We all really needed some unwind time and “just be” time and JODO was the answer! We walked out of the Provo airport and got into the cab with JODO-organized driver, Gray. Gray carried our bags, loaded us up and took us to the grocery where we selected our supplies for our week in North. Gray then hefted the heavy boxes into the cab and drove us to the ferry. After climbing off the ferry we were met by wicked-cool, Mark, who also helped with our bags and drove us the short distance to JODO. I’d seen tons of pictures but driving through the gate for the first time was phenomenal as we saw the ocean a bit in the distance and the house tucked behind lush greenery. Mark gave us a good introduction to our home for the week and answered all of our questions with ease. Mark was a great resource to us and with all of his assistance we were able to relax and enjoy our beautiful surroundings! We found the accommodations in the house to be nothing shy of perfect. They thought of everything from the corkscrew, stereo, and WiFi to the coolers for our time out on the private beach. The beach is stunning. And private! We were able to let our hair down and sit back and drink in the sun on the beach chairs, on the paddle board, snorkeling, etc. If you’ve never had your “own” beach for a week you really MUST try it here! This is the epitome of relaxation and being able to let the stresses of life blow out to sea was the best mental floss! One of the highlights of the trip was our excursion to Mudjin Harbour on Middle Caicos. We had a great tour guide in Alfred who drove us there and gave us some “belonger” insights to everything we saw. And if you’re into beautiful blues and crashing waves, Mudjin is a must-see! Finally, we were privileged to have a meal prepared for us by the fabulous Miss Agnes!! We had fresh lobster, potatoes, vegetables, conch salad, topped off with a delicious pineapple upside down cake! She was very accommodating to my food allergies and prepared THE best meal I believe I have ever had! It was, most definitely, an epic culinary experience!
The stressed and harried girls who arrived in JODO left there relaxed and happy. I love that you can stay at JODO and you never have to leave during your stay if you don’t choose to do so. Everything you could want is on premises including a variety of perfect sunsets. It’s the perfect place to relax, unwind, and find that inner peace that the rat race has a tendency to hide from us! I can’t wait to return to JODO and take my sweetie! HUGE thanks to owner, John, who had the vision for what we needed!

It started a year before we arrived, with my initial email inquiry to the property owner, John Farren. Having explained that we would require a mid-week check-in, John indicated he would do everything he could to make it work. Over the months, I peppered John with questions about Jodo and the island of North Caicos. John was always quick to reply to my emails and provide answers to my questions. As our arrival date approached, John made arrangements for our pick-up at the Provo airport and insured someone would pick us up at the Sandy Point Marina on North Caicos. As Jodo was unoccupied on our arrival date, John invited us to come over on the 12:30 ferry for an early check-in. When we arrived on North Caicos, we were met by Jodo property manager, Mark McClean. Mark spent the next hour familiarizing us with the property and answering a slew of questions we had about the island. He provided us with an I-phone (with minutes) and a Blackberry for our use. We also rented an "island car" from Mark at a very reasonable rate. Jodo is absolutely gorgeous - A beachfront property with a main house (unoccupied) and the guest house; a two-story, two bedroom, one bath unit with raised ceilings. The house is nicely furnished and has everything you would need to enjoy your stay. The ground floor is comprised of the master bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, living room, dining area and entryway. There is a small patio with gas BBQ just off the entryway. The second bedroom is located on the second floor and has a nice sized balcony with lovely ocean views. There is a large television (with cable) and DVD player in the living room, and a washer & dryer in the bathroom. There are ceiling fans throughout and there is an air conditioning unit in the bedroom. The wireless internet connection can be slow and sometimes non-existent, especially during daytime hours (an issue that was disclosed by Mr. Farren before the booking was finalized). Also available for guest's use are kayaks, paddle boards and snorkeling equipment. Beach towels are also provided. There is even an electric cart ("Nemo") which can be used to zip around the property. The beach is awesome and the color & clarity of the water made us feel like we were back in Fiji or Tahiti. If you like to swim in the ocean this is the property for you! Very calm all 10 days of our stay. This property is accurately described. The sunsets are over the water and are as nice as the one's in negril,Jamaica! Very private location with mostly vacant shoreline both east and west of property. Great kayaking area! Stop at the IGA in Provo on way to ferry to pick up supplies. Rent a car and visit mudjin harbour. Hike the Crossing place trail on a cloudy day, if you can find one! Always bring a water thermos with you. This place will make you dream of living here someday! Great video collection if needed. We turned the TV on once during our stay and watched Captain Ron while we were packing. The owner of this property is extremely generous to share this special place!!! John, We all had a great time at JODO---the best vacation ever ! The house was even better than expected, and we were surprised at how it had every luxury---yet was still "home-like". Angela felt so much at home, that I had to remind her that we were on vacation, and that she didn't have to clean up all the time, but she did sweep & clean-up every evening anyhow (it's hard to break her routines). Summer, our daughter, was amazed at all of the sea creatures, lizards, and exotic plant life all around JODO and North Caicos, she was constantly taking pictures, and she especially appreciated the internet service---we all know the importance of their "social networking" ! As far as activities, we did almost everything possible on North, Middle, and Provo, but the SNUBA was the best---very cool, but the small reef off of JODO was a pleasant surprise ! We want to thank you for giving us the opportunity to experience a true home away from home, and couldn't have had a better atmosphere to enjoy it in ! Mark was great, a real personable guy, and we felt totally at ease knowing he was nearby, just in case we had questions, or an emergency. We saw two humpback whales over morning coffee! Every morning we were given a show by North Caicos as we sipped on our coffee watching the water in the rocking chairs on the porch. We saw multiple rainbows light up the sky as the sun rose and the birds sung their morning songs. And the real treat was the humpback whales that we saw on two different mornings. Right in front of the house, just on the other side of the reef, we saw a whale jump completely out of the water, twice! The next morning, we saw the misty cloud from a breath of another whale. Grabbing my binoculars, I was able to see the back and tail of the humpback as it dove back down. Every morning I couldn't wait to get out of bed to experience what Mother Nature was going to show us right from the beach on the property. The accommodations on the property were far beyond what I expected, you'd never know you were on a remote island. I hope to come back soon.

John I would just like to give you a big thank you for opening your home here in North Caicos to my family. I understand what you mean about wanting people to leave as friends. I feel as though we are good friends even though we have not met which I hope one day will happen. Mark your manager has been more than helpful with my phone calls and hooking us up with Suzie (which I did give her a hug for you by the way...lol). JODO has been an amazing experience that we will be doing again FOR SURE. We have seen the local life here, enjoyed driving into Middle Caicos to see the many amazing sites, and the water OH the water.....sheer beauty at its best. Turks and Caicos has made me feel welcome at every turn. Man this place is beautiful. If you ever need a place to stay when you come to Ontario don't even hesitate to contact me. All the videos I have sent you are just small clips of the full video itself. I will post some on youtube and send the link to you for your full enjoyment. If you buy one of these drones down the road give me a shout, and I can help. They are very easy to fly. Words cannot describe how I feel about this place. I have dreamed about coming here for a long time and there was no disappointment here at JODO. Having your own private beach with a little cart (Nemo) to get you around is great. Three Mary.......awesome snorkelling and fishing. Mudjin Harbour made the trip for my son with the big waves and surf, he loved it. My sister and her husband were very relaxed and needed this break at a nice quite place. My wife and daughter found it to be the best holiday yet. Already missing the view & peaceful vibe at JODO
Hello John ! We are home and already missing the view and the peaceful vibe that you created at JODO. We enjoyed the precious (too little) time we spent there and hope to return again in the near future. As I said to Mark yesterday, at least Shannon & Derec got to sleep late, sunbathe, paddle board, watch sunrise and sunset, make 3 breakfasts, listen to your music and watch a couple of your movies. For us, it was a peaceful retreat at the end of the day, after the commotion of 12 relatives at C & J's house. Everything went so smoothly at JODO, and you have thought of everything one can need in that setting, and the house was simply spotless when we arrived ! That was important to us. We treasured your attention to details, the white linens, the music collection was so us- just wish we had spent more time there relaxing. We did try to leave a very small footprint and to respect your property as you would want. Mark is very good natured and a pleasure to deal with. Finally, NEMO ... what a bonus!!! we thoroughly enjoyed riding him and Alan and I felt like kids again . 10 Days in Paradise ......Overall I would give a 12 out of 10 Rating!
We stayed at JODO for 10 memorable days.Everything was as presented and better. Mark the manager was helpful and friendly. The house is gorgeous. The beach is beautiful and secluded. I walked for an hour daily on the beach and 9/10 days so no other people. Amenities are exquisite and we loved the island. We are going back for sure! John We had a fantastic time! Overall I would give JODO a 12 out of 10 and my husband would agree --let me know when we can reserve something for next November.....we loved every minute of it. Your people are awesome, Mark is a hoot! We enjoyed the beach, solitude and the island people in general. We admired your new big house and the wooden bar, we were overwhelmed with your generosity of opening up everything for us. The house is fabulous! We are loving it. Dear John The house is fabulous! We are loving it. We could stay for months ;) Olaf & Family Aug 12th 2013 Totally Relaxed! We had an amazing honeymoon at Jodo. The house was everything and more than what the pictures lead us to believe it was. The beach is absolutely beautiful and there is nobody around. John made sure that everything was set up for us by the time we got there. Gray, the taxi driver was waiting for us when we arrived. Our flight was two hours delayed, but he was still there and made sure that we made the ferry. Mac, the driver on the North Caicos side was also there to make sure we made it to Jodo. Mark, the property manager was very helpful and responsive. He answered all of our questions and knows just about everyone on the island. There was an issue with the electric car that is available and Mark fixed it immediately. We spent most of our time hanging out at the beach, snorkeling, fishing, kayaking and paddle boarding (all available at Jodo). But we did hire Agnus to cook for us one night and it was one of the best meals we have ever had. We also rented a car from Mark and went into Middle Caicos to explore the beautiful beaches and buy some crafts. Be sure to go by Miss B’s on the weekend to get a real island breakfast of Conch Stew or Chicken Sous. Overall I would rate this as a fantastic 5/5 vacation. I've traveled to many islands, and have enjoyed many stays, but Jodo (by far) has been the most relaxing... most secluded... and perfect for our honeymoon. John exceeded all expectations and focused on making sure or happiness was a priority. Mark (the property manager) and his wife were amazing and just a phone call away, if we needed anything. The property is gorgeous. The grounds and well cared for and secluded from the business of island activities. We arrived at the airport on Provo, and was met but the best taxi service (Gray). He happily drove us to a store for groceries, and to another for swim trunks (which had been inadvertently left behind), while giving us great ideas on places to eat for local food and sites to visit on our day trip back to Provo. The ferry ride from Provo to North was pleasant and the crew was very helpful. Mac and his friendly smile greeted us at the dock and took us to Jodo. We were then greeted by Mark (the property manager), who gave us a tour of the house and the beach/toys. Moments later, he was gone... leaving behind a cell phone with crucial phone numbers programmed.... just in case. The villa is beautiful, and is far beyond what would be offered at any high-end hotel. The crew has done a great job keeping the villa clean and up to date. It took no time to get acclimated and settle in. The beach is very clean. The water is so clear and calm; it was almost glass-like. There is a reef just a short walk into the water...and lots of beautiful ocean critters to be found. The kayaks and the paddle boards were a treat!! There was a lot of time fishing just off our shore... very relaxing. The property comes with a small electric car that makes getting around on the property so easy. After about 3 days, we opted to rent an island car from Mark and take in more of the island sights (travel to Middle Caicos, about a 30 minute drive, is a must). We met the most friendly locals and enjoyed many local dishes. Mid-way through the trip, we took the ferry back to Provo for a day, to restock our fridge and had no problems navigating the more popular island. When at Jodo, we did not see a single person... we had to go out of way to meet people; it is very quiet and felt like our own private island. I would highly recommend a stay at Jodo.... a piece of paradise. 5+ stars, really. It was SOO hard to leave! We had an absolutely fantastic time at Jodo... meeting the locals and convincing ourselves we would happily move there. We made it home late last night, and woke this morning... missing our coffee on the balcony.... and the sand between our toes! We have LOTS of great pictures that we wanted to share with you.... and of course, memories that we'd love to share in a glowing recommendation. Reviewed July 20, 2013 for a stay in June 2013My wife and I selected Jodo for our honeymoon over a number of other destinations and even sailing the Caribbean by the recommendation of a good friend. What a great choice it turned out to be.
The owner was wonderfully attentive to the few questions prior to the visit (he actually answered all our questions before we even asked - by way of preparatory emails ) and even answered the phone late one evening when we had a simple question. The same is true for the property manager who was waiting on the property to greet us upon our arrival.
Everyone involved in our stay; from the cab drivers, shop owners to the various restaurants' staff and the belongers (natives) treated us as though John had orchestrated the whole experience. Truly remarkable.
The property itself is immaculate, well designed, built and thoughtfully appointed, accommodating any visitor-whether your preference may be to engage in many activities or to accept the challenge to see how fast you can adjust to "island time" - I recommend the later as Jodo is the world's perfect place to simply "be"
5 Stars are not enough. We are anxious for our next visit - we will just have to keep honeymooning.

That meant a lot to us. By the next day, we had it booked. John walked us through everything and made sure our trip went smoothly. He hooked us up with some great contacts who helped us get our luggage and groceries to the island.
When we reached Jodo, we were greeted by Mark who showed us around and gave us some great tips on where to go and how to get there. Again, with Mark's help, getting around North and Middle Caicos was very easy, and he made sure to point out the best restaurants and beaches.
We didn't need to do much outside of Jodo. John has the place well-stocked with toys (kayaks, canoes, paddle boards, snorkel equipment, etc.). We came in with very high expectations and Jodo managed to top them all. We spent many hours snorkeling right off Jodo's beach. We saw a large variety of sea life, including octopus, barracuda, rays, sea turtles, lobsters, beautiful tropical fish, starfish and even a nurse shark.
We had a great time kayaking and canoeing to the Three Marys Cays, and to a sandbar near Parrot Cay where we found loads of sand dollars. We grilled nearly every night on the provided grill. Additionally, I own an internet company so good internet access is a must. I had a great connection the entire 10 days. Out of every place we've been in the world, Jodo has been our absolute favorite!

John, Hi We cannot thank you enough for an amazing week at Jodo!! Our stay was perfect from the moment that Gray picked us up to the moment he dropped us back at the airport yesterday. 5 star stay all the way! Needless to say, John had to drag me kicking and screaming on to the ferry yesterday morning? We had long delays in the airport yesterday (yes again) and didn't get home till after midnight. First we want to mention that John, the owner of JODO, is so helpful, enthusiastic, offers excellent communication and truly wants your stay to be perfect--Thank you, John, as you made sure our trip was in every way. When you arrive on N. Caicos, you are greeting warmly by it's friendly people. Mark met us at JODO on our arrival, arranged our rental car, Lucy (yeah, she's a bit weathered, yet Lucy is the perfect fun 4x4 for this island to explore all the gravel and dirt back roads--we loved her!). Mark gave us a feel for the island and offered any assistance to ensure that we were comfortable and enjoying ourselves. JODO is fully equipped with all the modern touches. It's clean, comfortable, breezy, peaceful and sits on an absolutely glorious isolated huge stretch of beach. We only saw 2 others walk by the beach during our entire stay. This beach was ours. Highlights of the trip were kayaking and snorkeling the reef, paddle boarding, Three Mary's Cays (beautiful, wild and isolated), Whitby Beach, Horstable Beach (including the must see eastern point/inlet for exploring, snorkeling and fishing), exploring Bottle Creek, the Causeway and Middle Caicos including Mudjin Harbor, scuba diving amongst massive vibrant coral heads full of fish life with Dedrick (Big D-highly recommended for snorkel, dive or fishing adventures), boating the north shore with Mark, do it yourself fly fishing on the reef just up from JODO, enjoying all the incredible wildlife both in and out of the water just plain relaxing away on the beautiful, peaceful beach and seeing the stars, sand and turquoise water under the moonlight at night. The stores on the island are well equipped though we suggest (as we did) picking up a few meats/poultry on Provo and having it boxed for the ferry for your trip (most everything else is available on North). We cooked great meals in the well equipped kitchen and enjoyed the restaurants such as the Barracuda Bar. This incredible and truly relaxing place was hard to leave and we absolutely want to come back at some point. Thank you so much, John (and Mark), for welcoming us to JODO and doing everything to make sure we had a vacation to remember. I also want to thank all the wonderful, friendly and helpful people of N. Thank you, John, for helping to make that come true for us! Now onto Jodo. From the moment you arrive on North Caicos you're welcomed with open arms. Mark greeted us at Jodo, showed us everthing, helped us with the wonderful rental car, Lucy (yeah, Lucy is a bit weathered but that want you want on an island like this with many dirt backroads to explore-she was perfect and fun for the trip!), described the island and helped get us on our way to relaxation. Jodo is wonderful, fully equipped, comfortable and comes with all the amenities to make your stay warm and welcoming. It doesn't hurt to be on a huge, desolated, wind protected, absolutely gorgeous stretch of beach. Sandy Point was basically all ours for the week as we saw only 2 other people on the beach during our stay. Arrange a rental car for exploring for sure. Some of the high points of the trip: Kayaking and snorkeling the reef, paddleboarding, exploring other beaches including Three Mary's Cays (beautiful and totally isolated), Whitby, Horsestable, the point east of Horstable (great area to relax, snorkel and flyfish), do it yourself flyfishing the flats just up the beach from Jodo for jacks and reef fish,exploring the causeway, Bottle Creek and Middle Caicos including Mudjin Harbor and just plain relaxing on our own private glorious beach. Though North Caicos is rather isolated, the stores are fairly well stocked and we had no trouble cooking excellent meals with the fully equipped kitchen. It's wise (like we did) to pick up meat & poultry for your stay on provo and have it boxed for the ferry-you'll find most everything else). We highly recommend Big D for snorkeling, scuba or fishing adventures-what a friendly fun guy! Thanks again, John and Mark, for everything. Jodo lets you comfortably take a step back in time. It was perfect.
We were met at Provo airport by John and arthur and driven to the grocery store to pick up our supplies and helped us load everything on the ferry.
The adventure begins. The water is amazing; you cannot believe it is so beautiful. The ferry ride is exciting. We are met at North Caicos by Mac and driven to the house. The gated property and house is wonderful, everything you need to have a luxury vacation. The view of the ocean and sound of the waves is so peaceful.
We had so much fun, walking and running barefoot on the beach, picking up beautiful pink conch shells along the way. There are paddle boards, kayaks, snorkelling, and Bon fire at nights, and not to miss sunsets.
Favorite memories:
1. Walking on the beach and it started to rain, it was so nice and warm. We just jumped in the water and floated with the rain falling on us. The water was sooo calm and smooth. Just a great feeling and rejuvenation experience.
2.Driving the little Nemo car to the ferry for the Coconut shrimp at the little restaurant there.
3.Bonfire at night and pulling the loungers up to the fire and
4. The dinner agnes cooked for us
Mark was there to help at a minutes' notice and drove us around the island to show us all the sights, including Flamingos. One evening I made lobster chowder, it was awesome and the lobsters are huge! We rented a car from Mark and had lunch at Mundgen Harbour and climbing down into a cave where there is a secret beach. Loved it! But most days just flew by, swimming; walking constantly finding another perfect Conch Shell. Paddle boarding, relaxing on the lounge chairs and your perfect ocean view. Watching the sunset or bonfire. Falling asleep tired, happy and rested.

The booking process was smooth and easy. All our of questions were promptly answered and the information about the rental was very thorough. John helped us easily get from the airport (PLS), to the ferry, to the property! His help and preparation made this short journey really fun and easy. Once we arrived at Jodo, we were amazed. Mark, the property manager was great. He walked through the property and got us situated and comfortable with everything we would need. Not only is Mark the Jodo property manager but he also offers a car rental which we took advantage of one day. The unit had two bedrooms, a master downstairs (air conditioned) next to the bathroom and a second room upstairs with a balcony that overlooks the ocean and offers some of the best sunset views. The bathroom has a huge shower, a washer and dryer, and all the other amenities of home. The kitchen was perfect! We cooked all our meals here except for one dinner and one lunch. Jodo provides all the necessary kitchen utensils and appliances to cook probably every meal possible. There is also a BBQ on the patio that we used. We shipped some food down and got the rest at the North Caicos grocers which was more inexpensive than we planned! There was internet, tv, iPod docking station, and all the comforts of home. They had paddleboards, kayaks, plenty of beach chairs, umbrellas, snorkel gear, floaties, and a wonderful beach to use these on. The patio of the soon to be completed main villa was a great place to have a cup of coffee and evening cocktail and watch the sunset. We felt 100% safe the whole time on the property. They thought of every detail which made our trip so special. We went to Middle Caicos one day and also ate at The Silver Palm. Can't wait to go back! Amazing Hide-Away in North Caicos, JODO
JODO, is one of those places that, once you get there and experience This Setting, You Will Have To Come Back. Once you arrive, you will feel the peace and serenity that JODO Guest Villa has to offer. The owner and management had made arrangements for our transportation to the Villa. Upon arrival the property manager cheerfully greeted us and we were shown around. Many of the benefits of what the Villa had to offer were revealed to us. Every area was spotless, as you would hope you would find. The tropical feel was evident in every room. New appliances every where, laundry facilities and a culinary designer kitchen that would make any gourmet envious. The second level sleeping area leads out onto an open balcony, with views of the beach and the calm waters. While being surrounded by acres of privacy, during our stay we had something very magical happen. We saw No One, absolutely no one while we were on the grounds of Jodo. We were offered an accommodation of a vehicle rental through the management which we did use to tour around North and Middle Caicos. And there are Many off site adventures to had. But, while we were enjoying ourselves at Jodo we were treated to the privacy we only dreamed we would find. The remoteness was only interrupted by the use of the array of , CD's - DVD's, IPod, Wireless internet cell phone with all necessary contacts for our use. The calm waters were perfect for the use of the paddle boards and kayak. Everything that was represented was there and More. The arrangements were some of the best that I have ever experienced. All questions were answered immediately, either by telephone or e-mail, with knowledge and courtesy. The entire experience, staying at JODO was nothing short of Excellent. I would compare the accommodations here at Jodo, to many of the luxury Villa's we have found St Bart's. And if privacy is important to your relaxing getaway, Jodo will only leave you wanting to Never Leave, as it did for us. If you are fortunate enough to decide to spend some time at Jodo, Enjoy yourself as we did. You will likely find yourself as we are, Looking forward to returning again soon. Thanks Jodo... The patio of the soon to be completed main villa was a great place to have a cup of coffee and evening cocktail and watch the sunset. We felt 100% safe the whole time on the property. They thought of every detail which made our trip so special. We went to Middle Caicos one day and also ate at The Silver Palm. Can't wait to go back! What an amazing,wonderful place 5 Stars!
An amazing and wonderful place and the best host ever, thanks John! It was perfect. We were met at Provo airport by John and arthur and driven to the grocery store to pick up our supplies and helped us load everything on the ferry. The adventure begins. The water is amazing; you cannot believe it is so beautiful. The ferry ride is exciting. We are met at North Caicos by Mac and driven to the house. The gated property and house is wonderful, everything you need to have a luxury vacation. The view of the ocean and sound of the waves is so peaceful. We had so much fun, walking and running barefoot on the beach, picking up beautiful pink conch shells along the way. There are paddle boards, kayaks, snorkelling, and Bon fire at nights, and not to miss sunsets. Favorite memories: 1. Walking on the beach and it started to rain, it was so nice and warm. We just jumped in the water and floated with the rain falling on us. The water was sooo calm and smooth. Just a great feeling and rejuvenation experience. 2.Driving the little Nemo car to the ferry for the Coconut shrimp at the little restaurant there. 3.Bonfire at night and pulling the loungers up to the fire and 4. The dinner agnes cooked for us Mark was there to help at a minutes' notice and drove us around the island to show us all the sights, including Flamingos. One evening I made lobster chowder, it was awesome and the lobsters are huge! We rented a car from Mark and had lunch at Mundgen Harbour and climbing down into a cave where there is a secret beach. Loved it! But most days just flew by, swimming; walking constantly finding another perfect Conch Shell. Paddle boarding, relaxing on the lounge chairs and your perfect ocean view. Watching the sunset or bonfire. Falling asleep tired, happy and rested. We loved it! Roy & Colleen The month of February 2013
A perfect getaway
My wife, 18 month old son, and I had the good fortune to spend 10 days at Jodo on North Caicos this January. John, the owner was very friendly and accommodating right from our first email contact. He arranged for transport from the ferry at North Caicos and then Mark, who cares for the house, welcomed us on our arrival and oriented us to the island. The house itself was very clean, airy, spacious and relaxing. The beds were comfortable, the ceiling fans kept a nice breeze throughout the afternoon and the kitchen was well-equipped. The water was drinkable at the house and the local fruits and vegetables were a treat. The location, on the northeast corner of the island , means it is sheltered from the tradewinds. There is plenty of breeze to keep you cool, but gentle seas behind the reef made it a wonderful swimming beach for junior. Mark rented us a car, which we did need as amenities are spread out on the island. We spent many days on the wonderful beach at the house, but also travelled to other beaches on the island and spent some time on Middle Caicos, hiked part of the Crossing Trail and had a really great lunch at Daniel’s. Lunch/dinner at the Last Chance Bar and Grill was another highlight. You go to North Caicos for the quiet, the beaches, the water, the fishing and the relaxing laid back feel. You don’t go looking for nightlife or any sort of “scene”. We only saw two people on the long stretch of beach at the house all week. The island is sparsely populated. We are a couple who prefer a little bit of adventure on vacation, but, with a young child in tow also needed/wanted some comfort and ease of travel. For us, Jodo was perfect.
